Plant Dyed Handspun Wool Yarn
$44.00
Local handspun pure wool yarn, botanically dyed in a range of beautiful, earthy autumnal tones.
A lovely, inherited vintage stash of yarn, handspun from local fleece , which I have dyed by hand with foraged plants and natural extracts including Mistloetoe, Eucalyptus Cineria, Kiker, Cutch and Pomegranate.
Only one ball of each colour available, with varying weights.
Natural and textural, a beautiful feature for your treasured hand-knit, crochet, weaving or craft project.
This is homespun yarn, with some variations in colour and texture, we embrace these imperfections rather than consider them flaws.
This vintage yarn comes with no official labelling, just a hand-written note from the maker - "Fine spun". Average 11 wpi so estimated equivalent of Australian 5 ply.
Botanical dyes evolve over time, as all things in nature do. Sunlight hastens the process. Gentle handwash only, in warm water, some colour run-off possible, dry in shade.
Balls sold individually.
Handmade in Dja Dja Wurrung Country / Castlemaine by Tribe, with vintage yarn handspun by retired maker, Tene Marchant.
I do my best to represent products accurately, please allow for colour variations in monitors and screens.
