Rustic bobbins of sashiko thread, botanically dyed-by-hand to reveal a unique range of gentle, natural colours.

20 metres of standard Japanese sashiko thread, presented on an old-school wooden dolly peg.

This collection includes a mix of Daruma Yokota thread, with a slight sheen to it, and Naska thread, a softer, more matte offering - both are high quality, 100% cotton, made in Japan.

Locally dyed-by-hand - a slow, multi-step process of preparing the fibres and extracting plant-based dyes, using foraged plants and extracts. 

Only one skein dyed at a time, so only two bobbins per colour available - perfect for your next small-scale bespoke slow stitch project.

Each bobbin is unique, as no two dye pots are the same, variegations in colour are part of their natural charm. 

Sold individually, choose from a range of colours, titled by the plant material used to create them.

Natural colours evolve over time, as all things in nature do. Exposure to sun hastens the process.
