Raffia : Local Hand-Dyed
$13.00
Loved by basket-makers, weavers, florists, gardeners, designers and crafters - natural raffia has a multitude of uses.
Fibre made from the dried and shredded leaves of the palmyra palm tree, this high quality raffia is harvested from renewable sources in Madagascar and locally dyed by hand.
An earthy selection of colours, small batch, hand-dyed locally using non-toxic Australian-made dyes and foraged plants and natural plant extracts.
This is high quality (but not premium) raffia, approx 50gram hanks, fibre length approx 80-120cm. A great all rounder, with a mix of thicker and thinner strands, will suit most basket weavers and fibre artists. The small-scale nature of dyeing-by-hand results in a more rustic, imperfect offering with variegated colour range.
Sold individually, in approx 50gram bundles (unless stated otherwise) choose from a range of colours.

Dyed-by-hand in Dja Dja Wurrung Country / Castlemaine with raffia sustainably sourced from Madagascar.
