Palyani Bush Medicine All Purpose Balm

$40.00

Palyani Irmangka Bush Medicine – a deeply sacred all-purpose balm made with just three natural ingredients: Irmangka-Irmangka / Emu Bush, olive oil and beeswax.

A natural balm for everything, Palyani hydrates, soothes and moisturises, helping with aches, bites, burns, dry lips, skin ailments and more.

Created by Nina, a proud Kokatha woman, Palyani (pronounced bahl-ya-nee) heals not only the body but the mind and spirit, a connection to the world's oldest living culture, to the earth and to self.

Sacred to the Kokatha people, Irmangka-Irmangka / Emu Bush, is an arid plant from the South Australian deserts known for its anti-inflammatory, pain-relieving and skin-nourishing properties.

Every jar of Palyani is hand poured by Nina and her children. They harvest Irmangka-Irmangka back home on Kokatha Country, stem the leaves by hand and infuse it with beeswax and olive oil, ready to heal.

Applications:

MUSCLE & JOINT PAIN RELIEF - Helps with arthritis, sore muscles and general aches.
HEADACHES & MIGRAINES - Can be applied to the temples, neck and shoulders to ease tension.

About the Maker

This arid plant is sacred to my people, grown in the Western and Central desert regions of South Australia. We call it Irmangka-Irmangka, “Bush  Medicine” in our Kokatha / Yunkanyjatjara language. I was first shown how to make it by one of my Elders in the early 2000s. I loved walking around on my Tjumu’s (Grandfather's) country and wild harvesting Irmangka-Irmangka with some of the Aunties. I want to bring our beautiful culture to everyone and show people that our ancestors are still alive through us. It is a privilege and a responsibility, one I honor with every leaf, every oil and every act of healing it brings to the world.
