Attracted by the rustic surrounds, small country town community and creative environment, Ange Rosemann moved with her family from the NSW Central Coast to Castlemaine in 2014.

Within a year she made the spontaneous decision to acquire a little old shopfront on Barker Street in the town's East End.

Tribe was founded on the desire to connect people with the work of local makers and contribute to a global shift away from corporate mass produced materialism towards conscious, ethical consumption.

More than that, Tribe is about connecting people with their own creativity, providing a range of quality tools and unique, natural craft materials.

Passionate about protecting childhood and the importance of play, Ange started her own range, Elfin Trail, in 2010 after many years of making Steiner-inspired toys for her three children. She continues to create playthings and kits to inspire creativity and imaginative exploration. Woodland folk, gnomes and faeries lead the way in connecting children to the natural world through imagination and belief.

While still making precious playthings for little people, Ange's focus has evolved to creating one-off beautiful, functional items which connect people more strongly with nature.

"The value of connecting with nature inspires everything I do. That connection comes when you make or own something handmade with natural materials. And when you make conscious decisions to buy natural alternatives."
