Sisal Dancing Earrings
Sweet little dancing earrings featuring two tiny woven sisal discs hanging on a brass chain with an ostrich shell bead.
Fair trade, supporting women artisans to provide a better way of life for their families and communities in rural Swaziland.
Using a fine coiling technique, jewellery is woven from sisal, a fibre made from the agave plant which originated in Mexico and was introduced to Africa for the fibre. Prior to weaving it must be stripped, cleaned and spun by hand, a very labour intensive task.
Hanging from nickel free brass French hooks, sisal discs measure just 10mm diameter with a total hang of 60mm.
Choose from three designs : two tone blue, blue & green and earth black.
