Sashiko cotton thread especially designed for boro stitching and sashiko embroidery. This 10 wire twisting cotton is perfect for slow stitch and visible mending.
The Japanese word sashiko means 'little stabs' or running stitch, devised to quilt several layers of loosely woven fabric together for strength and warmth. From humble beginnings, the practice is seeing a resurrgence, with traditional Japanese designs embroidered onto indigo-dyed fabric in white contrast running stitch.
Thread is .08mm diameter, 20 metres in length and ivory white in colour.
Sourced from Japan.
