Beekeep DIY Beeswax Wrap Block

$14.00 $19.95

Make your own beeswax food wraps reducing waste in your kitchen and extending the shelf life of food naturally.

Our DIY block provides the perfect blend of ingredients to render pure fibres anti-microbial, anti-fungal and water resistant:

BEESWAX (antibacterial) ORGANIC JOJOBA OIL (antifungal) and PINE TREE RESIN (antifungal and a natural adhesive)

With easy, step-by-step instructions, this 100g block will infuse about half a square metre of cotton, making about five sandwhich wraps (30X30cm).

Each DIY pack includes :
100g block of Beekeep medium
1 X 7" BeeKeep wrap, for your inspiration

Step by step instructions

The process involves grating the block, warming it in the oven and spreading it on your fabric. You will need  up to .5m  100% cotton fabric, baking tray, baking paper, paint brush (natural fibre), cheese grater, tongs, oven.

How to Use Beeswax Food Wraps:

At room temperature your food cloth becomes malleable, allowing you to shape it around a bowl or twist it over a food. Once refrigerated, the shape will quickly set, providing a healthy, breathable environment for your produce, allowing gases to pass through the cotton preserving food from spoiling prematurely.

Care : After each use, simply wipe over or gently handwash in COLD water, use mild soap as needed. Drip dry. Every couple of months or so, refresh your beekeeps by pasteurising them in the oven on baking paper at 100℃. With care and good use your BeeKeep food wraps should last the year and beyond. At the very end of its time, simple integrate through the compost and replace.
